S.COUPS and Mingyu of the K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN are ready to hype fans with their sub-unit’s first mini album, “HYPE VIBES.”
On Tuesday, SEVENTEEN announced on their official social media accounts that the duo, also known as GyuCheol, will debut as the group’s newest sub-unit on September 29, with the release of “Hype Vibes.”
HYBE LABELS also dropped a teaser for the mini album on its YouTube channel, featuring what appears to be a day in the life of the two rappers, including strolling the streets, shopping, and going to the beach to party.
The clip ended with a street sign that read: “Wanna get hyped? CxM here now.”

In SEVENTEEN, S.Coups and Mingyu are members of the hip-hop team, which also includes Wonwoo and Vernon. The hip-hop team is behind the songs “Water,” “LALALI,” “Fire,” “GAM3 BO1,” and “Trauma.”
S.Coups and Mingyu are the latest sub-unit to debut from SEVENTEEN, following BSS (composed of Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi), JxW (composed of Jeonghan and Wonwoo), and HxW (composed of Hoshi and Woozi).
SEVENTEEN currently promotes with 11 members, as Wonwoo and Jeonghan fulfill their mandatory military service. Meanwhile, Woozi and Hoshi will enlist as active duty soldiers in the South Korean military on September 15 and 16, respectively.
Debuted in 2015, the 13-member K-pop act made a comeback in May with their fifth studio album, “HAPPY BURSTDAY,” to celebrate their 10th year in the K-pop scene.
SEVENTEEN last visited the country in January for the Philippine leg of their “RIGHT HERE” world tour in Bulacan.
