SB19’s A’TIN wins Billboard Fan Army Face-Off for second time in a row

by Joanna Deala

A’TIN, or fans of P-pop powerhouse SB19, has something new to celebrate!

A month after SB19 clinched the Favorite Asian Act, their beloved and loyal fanbase emerged victorious in the 2024 Billboard Fan Army Face-Off.

This marks A’TIN’s second consecutive win in the annual fandom showdown, after beating CARATs or the fanbase of K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN last year.

Fan Army Face-Off is an annual voting competition among fans of global artists to find out whose fanbase is the strongest.

According to Billboard, A’TIN won by a landslide with 56.3 percent of votes, surpassing Navys of pop icon Rihanna.

With this triumph, A’TIN now ties with Super Junior’s ELF, who also won the fan army showdown twice.

SB19—composed of Pablo, Stell, Ken, Josh, and Justin—congratulated their fans on social media.

“Your support proves that PPOP is more than just a genre—it’s a movement,” said the P-pop kings. “For PPOP. For the country.”

A’TIN Philippines, SB19’s pioneer fanbase, also congratulated their co-fans for their hard work in supporting SB19 and the P-pop industry.

“Let’s focus on the positive impact of this win. Dito muna tayo, madami pa tayong gagawin,” they said.

Fanbases of popular artists like Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, BLACKPINK, BTS, Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter, and Taylor Swift were also nominated in the 2024 Billboard Fan Army Face-Off.

SB19 recently released their latest song “KALAKAL,” featuring Original Pinoy Music (OPM) icon Gloc-9. The quintet will also release a documentary film about their “PAGTATAG!” journey on August 28.

‘Billboard K POWER 100’ participation

Meanwhile, Billboard Philippines confirmed on Friday that SB19, alongside Nation’s Girl Group BINI, will be awarded at the launching of Billboard Korea’s “Billboard K POWER 100” next week.

The two P-pop groups will take home the Voices of Asia Award, which “will honor their groundbreaking contributions to Filipino music and their unwavering championing of P-pop on the global stage.”

SB19 and BINI will grace the “Billboard K POWER 100,” performing their hit songs “GENTO” and “Cherry On Top,” respectively.

The event, which recognizes “the most influential figures in the global music industry” and celebrates their contributions, will be held at the Yeong Bin Gwan Hall of THE SHILLA Seoul in South Korea on August 27.
