SB19, Sandara Park collab for song advert

by Joanna Deala

HERE’S the collaboration you’ve all been waiting for, A’Tin and DARAlings!

Fans of P-pop sensation SB19 and K-pop superstar Sandara Park got their Christmas gift early when their idols dropped their much-awaited collaboration project: an advertisement song for an electronics company.

Their first song collaboration, “Reset,” gave listeners a much-needed break to refresh their minds especially this holiday season.

In the three-minute music video released on December 1, Park sang the first part of the song that went, “Seasons change; Don’t care, everyday’s a holiday; We make memories; As if it’s our last; So, go throw a pair of dice; See what paradise; Run and fly; Land in skies; You’re allowed to enjoy life.”

The video also featured behind-the-scenes clips of Park and SB19 members Pablo, Stell, Josh, Felip and Justin from their recording session. They were also seen bonding with each other as they danced to choreographies of Park’s latest song “FESTIVAL” and SB19’s hit song “GENTO.”

“FESTIVAL” is the lead single of Park’s self-titled solo debut extended play (EP) while “GENTO” is the lead single in the P-pop group’s “PAGTATAG!” EP.

Park, who continues to gain traction among K-pop fans, first teased about this collaboration in August in a concert held by the electronics brand at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Excitement built up among A’Tin and DARAlings when the former member of the popular K-pop girl group 2NE1 posted photos of her with the P-pop kings in a recording studio in September.

While this is Park’s first collab single for the electronics brand, SB19 recently joined forces with Asia’s Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo for the company’s advertisement song, “Ace Your World.”

Park’s recent Manila trip

Park had several engagements during her recent trip to the country.

Among these was when she was seen filming with the cast members of the South Korean reality show “Idol Truck,” who include Jinu of K-pop boy band Winner, former NU’EST members Jonghyeon and Aron and rapper DinDin. They were seen strolling at a market in Clark, Pampanga, where they tried on the Barong Tagalog, a traditional Filipino attire.

Park also joined her labelmate and GOT7 member Bambam as a guest artist during the Manila leg of the latter’s “AREA 52” world tour.

She also had guest appearances in local television programs such as the noontime variety show “It’s Showtime” and mystery music game show “I Can See Your Voice.”

The K-pop superstar made the most out of her Manila visit as she went on a food trip, as seen in the photos she shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Mahalima updates

Meanwhile, the headline-making quintet recently concluded the month-long celebration of their fifth anniversary in October.

SB19 released “Atin Atin Lang” podcast, a new episode of their variety show series “Show Break,” and held the “One Zone” fan meet.

They also announced the launch of their own company called 1Z Entertainment. They were previously managed by ShowBT Philippines.

The members, whom their fans fondly refer to as Mahalima, have been trending on X in the past weeks after they removed “SB19” from their social media handles, causing confusion and concern from their fans.

The group also canceled their shows in Singapore, Bangkok, United Arab Emirates, and postponed their performance in Japan for their “PAGTATAG!” world tour.

The new date for the Japan leg of the tour was rescheduled to the first quarter of 2024, 1Z Entertainment announced on Friday.

A’Tin continued to shower their Mahalima with support amid these developments.
