SB19, ALAMAT collab for ‘Maharani,’ ‘Kalakal’ TikTok dance videos

by Joanna Deala

P-POP groups SB19 and ALAMAT sent their fans into a frenzy after posting TikTok videos that featured them dancing to hit songs “Maharani” and “Kalakal.”

Multilingual and multiethnic boy band ALAMAT posted a TikTok video on Monday, featuring them and SB19’s Pablo, Josh, and Ken dancing to the 2022 hit song “Maharani.”

“Lakambini, kami na lang ng [SB19] ang iyong lakan,” wrote ALAMAT in the caption.

The video has garnered over 1.4 million views, with many social media users praising Ken, who was at the center of the dance challenge, for his smooth dance moves.

“[Yung] pitik talaga ng isang Ken Suson. [Napaka] angas,” a netizen commented.

“Long lost member ng ALAMAT, Ken Suson,” another fan said.

One social media user, meanwhile, said, “Oh my god ‘Maharani’ Ken Suson is not on my 2024 bingo card but here we are now. Bagay so much!”

The two boy groups also took this opportunity to dance to SB19’s newly released song “Kalakal,” which featured Original Pinoy Music (OPM) icon Gloc-9.

The clip, which has raked in more than 220,000 views on TikTok, started with Ken, Josh, and Jao before other ALAMAT members hopped on the dance challenge.

Several fans are hoping for a collaboration between SB19 and ALAMAT.

“Waiting for a collab song ALAMAT x SB19,” one TikTok user said.

SB19 and ALAMAT participated in “Watsons Playlist: P-pop Power Concert” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, along with other P-pop girl groups KAIA and G22 and global pop group HORI7ON.

During the event, ALAMAT and SB19 also danced to “Dagundong” and “What,” along with other Filipino pop groups.

ALAMAT, SB19 updates

ALAMAT—composed of Taneo, Tomas, Mo, Jao, R-Ji, and Alas—recently collaborated with pop rock band The Juans for “Gupit,” a song about moving forward.

The song’s title got its inspiration from a practice of cutting one’s hair short after a heartbreak.

Before “Kalakal,” SB19, on the other hand, released the songs “Moonlight” and “Ready.”

“Moonlight” is the P-pop powerhouse’s first release since their “PAGTATAG!” album in 2023, which included the hit song “GENTO.”

SB19 is set to release a documentary film about their “PAGTATAG!” journey on August 28.
