Sasaeng fan facing lawsuit for breaking into NCT hotel room

by RepublicAsia

SM Entertainment will be pursuing legal action against the alleged sasaeng fan who broke into an NCT member’s hotel room.

The label said it will not tolerate the behavior of the fan who invalidates the privacy of the members.

This announcement came following an incident in Los Angeles, where a fan allegedly barged into NCT’s Jaehyun’s room in October 2022.

The said female sasaeng fan passed security and broke into the NCT member’s hotel room. She also stated that she hurriedly recorded the video. This caused NCTizens to call out the sasaengs for her unpleasant actions.

SM is also planning to file a lawsuit against those who are responsible for the videos posted on social media X, formerly known as Twitter, that violated the privacy of the artist.

“Our artist’s privacy has been seriously violated. We are currently gathering data on both the original uploader of the videos containing illegal acts, and everyone else who redistributed them,” an SBS News report quoted SM Entertainment as saying.

The videos, which were filmed  during the NCT’s most recent US tour last October 2022, shows members of the group staying in the hotel. The members luggages was also captured on camera in a hotel hallway.

The agency assured the fans that it will take this matter seriously and will identify the person behind the videos circulating on various social media platforms.

Meanwhile, NCT will mark its much-awaited comeback with Golden Age this August 28. It will be the KPop band’s first full-group release since its Universe album last December 2021.
