THE WWE Universal Championship fight was the second match on the 2024 Royal Rumble premium live event card at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, and Roman Reigns retained his title in a Fatal 4-Way match.
Reigns defended his championship against Randy Orton, AJ Styles and LA Knight in a Fatal 4-Way Match where he appeared to have little chance of losing the title.
Randy Orton was the first competitor to enter the ring for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship Fatal Four-Way Match.
The match began with Orton and Reigns teaming up against AJ Styles and LA Knight. Both teams battled on opposite sides of the ring until they eventually collided near the announcers’ table.

The crowd did not appear to have a favorite. Everyone was cheered on at different times, including the heels. This crowd was cheering for everyone rather than criticizing the bad guys, creating a rowdy atmosphere in the stands.
Unsurprisingly, The Bloodline had an impact on the match. Solo Sika dragged the referee out of the ring to keep Reigns from being pinned. However, no one was disqualified from the contest, so it continued.
It was a tough struggle among the four wrestlers and everything was wonderfully put out, but when Reigns wrestles now, it’s difficult to really participate in the match because you know the ending and how they’ll get there.
In the end, Styles was caught trying to come off the top with a forearm when Reigns was countering Blunt Force Trauma. Knight ate a Superman Punch, and Styles fell to the spear. The Tribal Chief then defended his title by pinning Styles.

Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes made history at the 2024 Royal Rumble by becoming the first person since Stone Cold Steve Austin to win the 30-man over-the-top-rope spectacle twice in a row.
During the post-show press conference, The American Nightmare revealed that he will face Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
The two also met at WrestleMania 39 where The Tribal Chief triumphed with a little help from Solo Sikoa. However, Rhodes earned the chance to confront The Bloodline’s leader once more after winning the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
During the Royal Rumble post-show press conference, the two-time winner said that he will challenge Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
“So, I am very glad that he decided to take the skybox seat ‘cause you can make it very clear where we’re at. [With] all the respect in the world to Seth Rollins, that title gains more prestige every single day, but WrestleMania 39 did happen,” he said.
“And if you’re me, you can’t look at that and you can’t run from it. I don’t know, WrestleMania 40, Monday Night RAW, SummerSlam, I don’t know, Elimination Chamber. I want to be back in the ring with Roman Reigns and I want to finish the story,” added Rhodes.
Rhodes and the Head of the Table will most likely face off on Night Two of WrestleMania 40. However, Reigns still has Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa on his side, which might once again influence the bout’s outcome.
