REPUBLICASIA marked its first anniversary on November 5 as a digital platform that aims to amplify the voices of the young generation as they tell their stories and interests.
True to its image as the future platform of news media with civic journalism at its core, republicasia successfully delivered stories about various topics that are relatable to young individuals, particularly members of Generation Z.
In a span of one year, it produced stories that tackled complex issues concerning the youth. The articles were told in ways that they would easily digest.
The digital platform also expanded its reach to more young individuals by launching its digital magazine “Future Forward” and by holding summits that will arm them with the knowledge they need.
Perhaps one factor that made Gen Z resonate more with the stories produced by republicasia is that these narratives are told from the hearts of its Gen Z staff members.
You’re probably wondering how a Gen Z-dominated newsroom did all these — that’s the story republicasia aims to tell you in the coming days.
Here’s a rundown of what you should expect from the weeklong anniversary celebration of republicasia:
We will tell you how the digital platform started from scratch, how the newsroom was built, how the stories are formed, and up until the milestones it attained in the past months.
On Tuesday, November 28, republicasia will share the story behind how it started way before it was officially launched on November 5.
This involves the planning of the digital platform dedicated to Gen Zs, how its team was formed, the process of building its headquarters in Intramuros, Manila, and how it continues to uphold its mission and vision today.
On Wednesday, November 29, “Future Forward” will be the focus. The digital magazine was launched in September, featuring 50 student journalists across the country in its first-ever edition. “Future Forward” made a buzz online in October when it surprised P-pop fans with its second issue featuring the first multilingual and multiethnic Filipino boy group ALAMAT.
Republicasia will share how the idea of “Future Forward” was brought to the table, up to its current preparations for the third digital magazine issue.
On Thursday, November 30, the digital platform will unveil how stories are formed inside its newsroom and how it is being delivered to the public.
This follows republicasia’s journey of transforming the traditional way of delivering news through its unconventional storytelling techniques using digital platforms.
On Friday, December 1, republicasia will start the much-awaited month of the year with interesting content that will touch on their office culture. The audience will get to know more about the Gen Z staff members of republicasia and how they collaborate with each other in producing relevant and unique stories for other young individuals.
This story will dig deep into their bond with one another. Here’s a teaser: what viewers have seen in republicasia’s office culture-related content is just the tip of the iceberg; there are more stories to be unveiled on Friday.
On Saturday, December 2, the weeklong anniversary celebration will conclude with republicasia’s gratitude for the milestones it achieved in a year.
This includes the summits it held in partnership with other organizations, including IAcademy for “Lead Like A Pro” and “Next Up” and DashoContent for “dashcon 2023.”
