AT SOME point in everybody’s life, they entered romantic relationships that did not work out. They let themselves feel the pain of the heartbreak, which is the first step towards healing.
If you are going through heartbreak and want to have the courage to move on, you might want to let Original Pinoy Music (OPM) band The Juans accompany you with their latest song, “Tama Ka Na.”
The Juans—composed of RJ Cruz, Carl Guevarra, Japs Mendoza, and Chael Adriano—aims to empower broken-hearted listeners through “Tama Ka Na,” an anthem that would encourage them to move on from their painful past and “step into something better.”

Heartbreaks bring different lessons into one’s life, including learning to choose and love themselves.
“After ‘Rebound,’ we felt like we had to keep going,” said Guevarra, referring to their September 2024 single dedicated to those who felt that they were just an escape by someone who has not fully recovered from their previous romantic relationship.
“That song was about being frustrated and feeling overlooked. With ’Tama Ka Na,’ we wanted to explore what comes after that frustration—when you realize that no matter how many times you try, it’s time to face the fact that nothing will change,” The Juans’ lead vocalist continued.
“Tama Ka Na” features The Juans’ signature vintage-pop soft rock vibe and soul-stirring lyrics that goes, “Tama ka na, pagod na ‘kong mapaglaruan. Huwag mo akong sundan, hindi kita kawalan.”
The band hopes that listeners would realize that “walking away is the only option left,” adding that it is important for them to know when to close their doors and choose what is best for themselves.
“Tama Ka Na” is now available on music streaming platforms. The Juans also dropped an official lyric video, featuring Guevarra wandering the streets.
About The Juans
Formed in 2013, The Juans entered the local music scene in 2015 with their self-titled extended play (EP), comprising three songs: “Atin Ang Mundo,” “Prom,” and “Magkasama.”
It was followed by another EP in 2018 called “Umaga,” which also served as the title of their live album in 2020.
The Juans was not originally a four-member band. In 2022, The Juans announced that it parted ways with their former drummer, Joshua Coronel, citing “personal reasons and matters.”
The OPM band continued to release music as a quartet, with a recent collaboration with P-pop boy group ALAMAT for “Gupit,” an anthem that narrates the aftermath of heartbreak.
Republicasia had an opportunity to learn more about The Juans, with the quartet pointing out each member’s characteristics. Watch the interview through this link.
