A FILIPINO-MADE banana-fiber fabric was featured in the 2024 Thailand fashion week in Bangkok, Thailand.
The fabric was made by a social enterprise in the Philippines called House of Musa. Aside from unleashing their talents, they’re also providing livelihood to persons deprived of liberty (PDL) from Davao del Norte.
According to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the fabric that are made by the PDL were from three prisons in Davao del Norte. As part of their global advocacy brand, the House of Musa joined prestigious fashion shows such as the New York Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week,
And this week, their collection was featured in the Thailand fashion scene for the first time.
Their collections have also been paraded in Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and Japan
