TWO days before Miss Cosmo 2024 kicks off, Filipinos already unleashed their Bayanihan spirit that led to the victory of Filipina beauty queen Ahtisa Manalo in “The First Station” of the pageant’s “Cosmo People’s Choice” competition.
In an Instagram post, Miss Cosmo International congratulated Manalo for winning at “The First Station,” proving her “beauty, grace, and intelligence.”
With this triumph, the 27-year-old Miss Cosmo Philippines will receive a special “Hope Star” boost, which will double her voting points in the “Final Stage: The Big Bang;” a private photoshoot; a VIP party; a 24-hour media team support; and the chance to take over Cosmo’s Instagram page for a day.
The pageant organizers then thanked candidates who participated in the first round of the “Cosmo People’s Choice” competition.
“It’s been an amazing journey so far, but remember, there are still two more phases to conquer,” it said.
The candidate who will emerge victorious in the “Cosmo People’s Choice” competition will secure a spot in the Top 10 of the Miss Cosmo coronation night. Pageant fans and enthusiasts may help their favorite bet win the contest by casting votes on the pageant’s website.
Meanwhile, Manalo thanked her Miss Cosmo family for their support.
‘Cosmo Social Ambassador’ award
Manalo also competes in another online poll for the “Cosmo Social Ambassador” award.
For this recognition, the Miss Cosmo pageant seeks candidates “who have great ambitions to transform our world positively, embrace the spirit of daring to speak and act, and harness the power of social media to inspire and drive meaningful change.”
The winner of the online poll will automatically enter the Top 21 of the Miss Cosmo 2024 competition, along with the “Cosmo Social Ambassador” sash and a commemorative award.
In her broadcast channel on Instagram, Manalo has asked for support from her fans to win the award.
“Let’s win the ‘Social Ambassador’ award and show the Cosmos the power of Filipino bayanihan,” said the Philippine bet.
“Thank you so much sa mga nag-vote na. Ang bilis niyo!” she added.
Filipinos may help Manalo to be one of the Top 21 finalists by liking and following Miss Cosmo’s Facebook page and voting for Manalo by reacting, commenting, and sharing her profile photo. One reaction, comment, and share is equivalent to one point each.
Manalo in Vietnam
Manalo left for Vietnam on Thursday to represent the Philippines in the Miss Cosmo 2024 pageant.
“Vietnam bound with Philippines in my heart,” she said on her Instagram post, sharing a few snaps of her at the airport with her supporters and several members of the media.
Filipino netizens, on the other hand, believe that Manalo will bring home the country’s first-ever Miss Cosmo crown.
“Iwagayway mo [nang] matayog ang watawat ng Pilipinas, [Ahtisa]! Naniniwala ang buong [sambayanan] sa’yo. Mahal ka naming lahat!” one Instagram user commented.
Fellow beauty queen Jessica Marasigan also expressed her support for Manalo and said, “We got your back every step of the way!”
Miss Cosmo 2024 competition will be held from September 15 for the official crown press conference and sashing ceremony in Hanoi to October 5 for the grand finale in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
