MAMA AWARDS has announced that actor Park Bo Gum and singer Jeon Somi will return as hosts for the 2023 annual music awards ceremony, which will take place in the Tokyo Dome on November 28 and 29.
Park Bo Gum and Jeon Somi both made an impression on the audience with their competent presenting skills and limitless energy at the 2022 MAMA Awards.
Shim Joon Beom, the head of CJ ENM’s music content division, said of the chosen hosts, “I think those two, who participated in the first year of the rebranding of the MAMA Awards, are truly the right fit as icons who convey the value and message of the awards ceremony.”
“As we have foreshadowed an interactive stage where people can empathize and come together through K-pop this year, we plan to introduce some new technologies to communicate with the global audience in a new way and present a variety of entertainment,” he went on to say.
The theme of this year’s event is “ONE I BORN,” which represents how the ‘I’ and ‘MAMA,’ each with endless possibilities, are born together to create positive energy as “ONE”.
On November 28, the stage will be graced by performances from INI, JO1, TVXQ, xikers, TOMORROW x TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, Kep1er, &TEAM, and the “Street Woman Fighter 2” cast.
On the second day, November 29, ATEEZ, NiziU, RIIZE, ZEROBASEONE, SEVENTEEN, (G)I-DLE, LE SSERAFIM, BOYNEXTDOOR, and EL7Z UP will perform.
The 2023 MAMA Awards will be televised by Mnet and live-streamed globally on channels such as YouTube channel Mnet K-POP, Mnet TV, KCON official, and M2. This means that viewers from all over the world may tune in to watch the event live.
