Paramore’s Hayley Williams drops surprise new songs

by Rescel Ocampo

PARAMORE lead singer Hayley Williams surprised fans as she released 17 new songs on her website, July 29.

But Williams also took down her music, a little more than 24 hours later. In its place was the message “Thank you for listening.”

Fans who purchased Ego, a hair dye product from Hayley Williams’ brand Good Dye Young, received a password that, when entered on hayleywilliams.net, unlocked a webpage revealing 17 tracks—including “True Believer,” “Hard,” “Zissou,” and more.

The song “Mirtazapine” premiered on Nashville’s WNXP radio station.

Hayley Williams also surprised fans with a live performance of the track during Bleachers’ set at the Newport Folk Festival.

While it remains unclear whether the tracks are standalone releases or part of a full album, Hayley Williams most recently dropped the single “I Like It I Like It” with Moses Sumney earlier this year.

Williams first rose to fame as the front for American rock band Paramore, who helped define pop punk and emo movements with songs like “Misery Business” and “That’s What You Get.”

Outside of Paramore, Williams has released two solo albums—Petals for Armor (2020) and Flowers for Vases / Descansos (2021)—along with a trio of EPs.

Williams also collaborated with Taylor Swift, lending vocals to “Castles Crumbling,” a vault track from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) in 2023.

She previously hinted that her long-awaited solo tour could finally happen this 2025.
