Fans of the American rock band Paramore did not hesitate, but continued to express their support towards lead singer Hayley Williams after contracting a lung infection, which led the band to cut their This is Why tour in North America.
Supposedly, the tour will be held at Veteran Memorial Coliseum in Portland on August 10, and Delta Center in Salt Lake City, August 13.
In the official instagram post by Paramore captioned “A message from Hayley,” the vocalist reveals her health condition saying she was “hoping a week off of performing, and a strict medicine routine” that would help her heal enough from her lung infection.
The 34-year old singer-songwriter also expressed that she is doing everything she can to stand still against her infection to avoid disappointment with more news of concert cancellations and postponements.
“After struggling for the last few shows and consulting with my doctor, we’re unfortunately realizing that it’s past the point of wanting to push through to put on a good show for all of you,” the singer wrote.
“I’m now risking long term damage and I need to pay attention to my body. With that in mind with a heavy heart, we have to cancel our remaining shows in both Portland and Salt Lake City,” she added.
Williams also sent her apologies and regards to the rock band’s fans for their continuous support amidst the rescheduled travel plans.
It was also mentioned that a refund will be available.
The Instagram post’s comment section is now filled with fans’ support, wishing for the Ain’t It Fun singer to fully recover from health condition.
However, some are also in mixed emotions, expressing their disappointment towards the band’s tour postponement.
The said tour aims to support their latest album, This is Why, which features their lead single, The News, C’est Comme Ça, and Running Out Of Time.
The tour is set to resume in November this year along with their shows in Australia and New Zealand.
The rock band is also scheduled to join Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in 2024.
Paramore is also known for their famous hits, Still Into You, Misery Business, All I Wanted, and The Only Exception.
