YORGOS Lanthimos’ critically acclaimed film ‘Poor Things’ hits Philippine cinemas on Heart’s Day, February 14.
Based on the 1992 novel by Alasdair Gray, Poor Things follows the story of Bella Baxter (played by Emma Stone), a young woman who has been brought back to life by a scientist after her suicide.
The film is set in Victorian Glasgow, where Bella embarks on a series of adventures and self-discovery, eager to explore and learn what the world has to offer.
The latest dark comedy offering recently won the Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture for Emma Stone.
The film has also garnered 11 Academy Award nominations this year, including Best Picture, Best Director for Yorgos Lanthimos, Best Adapted Screenplay for Tony McNamara, Best Actress for Stone, and Best Supporting Actor for Mark Ruffalo.
