OPM featured in Heart Evangelista’s Milan Fashion Week reels

by Joanna Deala

FASHION icon Heart Evangelista brought nostalgia to millions of her Instagram followers as she turned the streets of Italy into her runway for Milan Fashion Week.

Evangelista shared several reels of her head-turning outfits during the fashion week, using iconic Original Pinoy Music (OPM) songs as background music.

Among her first outfits for the highly anticipated event was from Italian luxury house Marni, featuring an oversized gray blazer and black jacket paired with a chunky gold necklace. The reels’ background music was “Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin” by Kitchie Nadal.

She then rocked a brown body-fitting long-sleeve dress with a beige leather bag from another Italian luxury fashion house Fendi. Evangelista showcased how to power dress “the Fendi way” with Bamboo’s iconic song “Hallelujah.”

Of course, P-pop songs will not be out of her OPM playlist. The fashion icon said she felt “lightning cool” with her sporty all-black ensemble from Onitsuka Tiger, featuring “P-pop kings” SB19’s hit song “GENTO.”

Eraserheads’ “Magasin” was also championed in Evangelista’s reels, as she flaunted an elegant criss cross backless by Roberto Cavalli, coupled with long leather gloves.

She then showed what “classic truly means” during Milan Fashion Week, sporting another black dress from Max Mara. She chose Sugarfree’s “Makita Kang Muli” as background music.

From monochromatic color, Evangelista was seen clad in a black skirt, a red blouse, and a purple sweater. She completed her look with a black Prada bag.

For her music, she picked Sarah Geronimo’s hit song “Tala.”

The fashion icon continued to turn heads at the fashion week with her tank top and ruffle skirt from Moschino, featuring Hale’s “Kung Wala Ka.”

“King of Rap” Francis Magalona’s “Kaleidoscope World” and Callalily’s “Stars” were also part of Evangelista’s OPM playlist for her outfits from Tod’s and Missoni, respectively.

‘Playlist on point’

Meanwhile, netizens were not only captivated by Evangelista’s outfit but also by how she incorporated OPM with global fashion.

“Who could have thought that Filipino music can be mixed with fashion, right? Bright move!” one netizen commented on her reels.

“Playlist on point. Are you ready for it,” said another Instagram user.

Social media star Tim Yap, on the other hand, reacted, “Love this OPM steak, Missy!”

SB19 also commented with a Philippine flag and a red heart emoji.

Evangelista has returned to France for Paris Fashion Week.
