So, what do the fans think about this?
A 21-year old One Piece fan said in an interview with republicasia that she was hesitant at first to watch the live adaptation because she thinks that she won’t feel the hype, as the anime gave the best visuals and story ever. But, when she watched the trailer, she thought that the story and production were good so she felt excited about the premiere date.
The live adaptation on Netflix has eight episodes.
The story is about the adventure of Monkey D. Luffy, a pirate who dreams of finding the “One Piece,” a mythical treasure that will help him become King of the Pirates. Throughout his journey, he meets crew and friends – Zorro, Ussop, Sanji and Nami.
Iñaki Godoy stars as Monkey D. Luffy; Emily Rudd as Nami; Mackenyu Arata as Roronoa Zoro; Taz Skylar as Sanji; and Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp.
The other cast members are McKinley Blecher as Arlong; Jeff Ward as Captain Buggy; Vincent Regan as Garp; Peter Gadiot as Shanks; and Michael Dorman as Gol D. Roger
The series was made possible through the partnership of the producers, Tomorrow Studios and Netflix.
