“DEMON Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle,” the first movie of the hit Japanese anime’s three-part finale, will premiere in Philippine theaters on August 20.
SM Cinema announced this on Saturday, June 28, sharing the one-minute and 30-second main trailer of the much-awaited movie, which centers on the final battle between the Demon Slayer Corps and the demons.
The cinematic trilogy adapts the final arc of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” based on the manga series of the same name by artist Koyoharu Gotouge.
“The words ‘the final phase’ keep crossing my mind. This long battle may finally end tonight,” a voiceover could be heard in the trailer.
The clip featured the Hashiras, a.k.a. the highest-ranking Demon Slayers, and the Upper Moons, or the most powerful demons in the global anime hit.
It ended with Akaza, the third highest-ranking member of the Upper Moons, meeting protagonist Tanjiro Kamado, who joined the Demon Slayer Corps after his younger sister, Nezuko, turned into a demon.
The forthcoming movie, directed by Haruo Sotozaki, will also feature two official theme songs: “A World Where the Sun Never Rises” by Japanese pop singer Aimer and “Shine in the Cruel Night” by Japanese singer-songwriter LiSA.
Ticketing details for the Philippine premiere of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle,” including the exact ticket selling date, will be announced soon, according to SM Cinema.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” is the fourth film adaptation of the popular anime shonen series, following “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train” in 2020, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Swordsmith Village” in 2023, and “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training” in 2024.
