Netflix, to release Winx Club reboot in 2025

by Gaby Agbulos

CALLING ALL “Winx Club” fans! A new reboot of the show is coming to Netflix in 2025.

Fans of the OG show will be able to watch the iconic Winx Club girls once more, but this time, they’re completely CG-animated.

The girls themselves have also been re-designed to make them more “era-appropriate”. In the trailer, you once again get to see Bloom, Tecna, Aisha, Stella, Musa, and Flora decked out in modern clothing that still matches their original vibe.

This series is set to enchant both new and old fans of the show, and hopes to bring Magical Dimension to life like never before.

It will follow the adventures of Bloom, a fairy, alongside her and her friends as they all try to navigate this new world, learning about how to use their powers, facing off against evil, and growing to become the best of friends in time.

“We will rediscover the journey of Bloom, a teenage girl from Earth who finds out she is a fairy with extraordinary powers,” said Rainbow Studios, the creator of the show.

“As she enrolls in the Alfea College for Fairies, Bloom will form the Winx Club with her new friends, embarking on fairy adventures across magical dimensions.”

The announcement of this animated remake follows after Netflix canceled its live-action remake of Winx Club entitled “Fate: The Winx Saga,” which took a darker take on the beloved children’s series.

The creator of Winx Club, Ignitio Straffi, has also announced that aside from the CGI-animated series, a big budget film for the Winx Club is also in the works.

Reactions online

While many are excited to once again watch these hilarious, headstrong girls come back to the screen, others have shared disappointment over the art direction of the new show.

Fans of the show who fell in love with the original art style and animation have questioned why there was a need to use CGI for the show, when they could have very easily made it 2D like its predecessor.

Some have even compared the new designs to robots, saying that the girls looked lifeless in the trailer and pointing out that they were much more expressive in 2D animation.

There are still many, however, who are still excited about the upcoming reboot and the new direction it’s taking. Fans have complimented the new looks for each character, and have said that they can’t wait to see how the new show’s going to go.
