“Wonderland” is a science fiction, romance, drama, and artificial intelligence film written and directed by Kim Tae Yong.
It stars A-list actors Bae Suzy, Park Bo Gum, Tang Wei, Jung Yu Mi, and Choi Woo Shik.
The film runs for 113 minutes and is set in a simulated universe called Wonderland, where people can reunite with their deceased loved ones using artificial intelligence that can create a virtual version of the deceased.
“Wonderland” follows the story of the young couple, Jeong In (Bae Suzy) and Tae Ju (Park Bo-gum), where Jeong In availed of Wonderland’s service when Tae Ju fell into a coma. Meanwhile, Hae Ri (Jung Yu Mi) and Hyun Soo (Choi Woo Shik) oversee the universe to ensure that the reconnection within Wonderland brings closure to the visitors.
On June 29, Bae Suzy shared behind-the-scene photos of “Wonderland” on her Instagram account with the caption, “Wonderlands.”
On June 5, “Wonderland” premiered in South Korea after a long overdue release due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming concluded in 2020 and the film was initially scheduled for release in 2021, based on The Korea Times report.
