NADINE Lustre, one half of the former other iconic love team then known as JaDine, gave her thoughts about the breakup of their then contemporary iconic tandem in Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, otherwise known as KathNiel.
Speaking at One Balita Pilipinas, Nadine was asked to comment on a question if the era of loveteams in the Philippines has come to an end with the breakup of Kathryn and Daniel.
“I think what matters is that you do want you want to do. If you feel na its tapos na, its the end of an era. Then, I mean, why linger diba?” she said.
But Nadine was quick to point out that her and her then reel and real loveteam James Reid’s fallout was different from Kathryn and Daniel.
She said that prior to them breaking up they already started doing separate projects.
“I guess my personal experience was different because i had projects, we started working on projects separately before the breakup happened. So, magkaiba siya, magkaiba,” she said.
On Thursday, Kathryn confirmed circulating rumors that she and Daniel have ended their relationship after 11 years.
Daniel, the other half of Kathniel, also confirmed the breakup.
But as many other loveteams – from Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion; Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III to Nadine and James, we can only pray for their healing as only time can tell if they will meet again and be friends or rekindle the flame to the song “This time I’ll be sweeter.”
