HOW would you feel as a student if you were to attend your class with your mother being one of your classmates? 

Many people might find a situation like that absurd, as it is something that you do not get to hear on an ordinary day. However, in a TikTok video that recently went viral, a student shared how her day went on the first day of class with her mother.  

In a video posted by TikTok user @mycabriones, she shared clips of her and her 42-year-old mother as an Education major in English students at Asian College of Technology in Talisay, Cebu.

While Myca’s mother, Mitchel, is the oldest student in their class, this was never an obstacle for her to bond with her younger classmates. 

In the year 1999, Mitchel finished high school–however, due to poverty, she passed up the opportunity of going to college. 

Mitchel chose to take up Education because of her experience as an ESL teacher for foreign students in Cebu. 

With her children now all grown up, she wanted to continue her dream of finishing college. 

Despite her age, Mommy Mitchel serves as this hope that it is never too late to reach for your dreams no matter how hard things get.
