Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists to change their route as many people are expected to watch the event as it unfolds.

MMDA acting chair Romando Artes also stated last Friday that there will be 1,000 traffic personnel that will be deployed on the parade route.

The MMDA also announced the implementation of lane closures and counterflow that will take place from noon to 8 pm on the following roads:

  • C-4 Road (from Navotas Centennial Park to A. Mabini St.)
  • Samson Road (from A. Mabini St. to Monumento Circle)
  • Mc Arthur Highway (from Monumento Circle to C. Santos Street)

Meanwhile motorists are advised to avoid the parade route and take the alternate routes instead.

  • From Malabon to Navotas, take Gov. Pascual and M. H. Del Pilar Street
  • Motorists heading to Monumento may take Gov. I Santiago Road, M. H. Del Pilar Street, and Samson Road
  • Motorists may also take North Luzon Expressway northbound and southbound

The 49th Metro Manila Film Festival will run starting December 25 to January 7 in cinemas.
