FROM featuring some of the emerging local artists in the Original Pinoy Music Scene (OPM), Spotify Philippines is now turning the spotlight on Filipino podcasters as it introduces the first-ever RADAR Creators.
The digital music service has unveiled the lineup for its inaugural RADAR Creators Philippines Class of 2025, consisting of emerging Filipino podcasters who represent “a unique facet of Filipino storytelling.”
They are television host Kim Atienza of “Ano Ba Talaga? With Kuya Kim,” singer Karylle Tatlonghari-Yuzon of “K’s Drama,” comedians Chariz Solomon and Buboy Villar of “Your Honor,” internet personality Sophie Prime of “DAGOK TIME!” and content creator Yani Villarosa of “yani’s room.”
In “Ano Ba Talaga? With Kuya Kim,” Kuya Kim, known for his trivia stints in the media industry, shares facts and trivia about anything under the sun with a wide range of guests.
Listeners will learn more about Karylle as she recounts her life’s journey in “K’s Drama,” from discussing her theatrical adventures, unlocking solo traveling tips, to narrating her dynamics with friends, and sharing her other interests.
Meanwhile, Chariz and Buboy aim to bring cheers to their audience as they combine satire with trending issues and intriguing topics in “Your Honor.” In each episode, the hosts summon a celebrity resource person to a “hearing,” where they open discussions and offer advice on a variety of topics, including friendship, dating, and money.
In “DAGOK TIME!” Sophie Prime shares real-life confessions while blending their funny and unfiltered commentary.
By opening doors into “yani’s room,” Yani gives listeners a sense of comfort while she yaps about a slew of topics, such as relationships, her personal experiences, her interests, and her learnings.
Extended support for podcasters
In a press statement, Spotify said RADAR Creators is an extension of its support to Filipino podcasters, providing them with on-platform promotion, marketing support, and mentorship opportunities.
“Filipino creators are pushing the boundaries of podcasting, using audio and video to tell stories that are real, relatable, and uniquely theirs,” Carl Zuzarte, Head of Studios at Spotify Southeast Asia, said.
“Through RADAR Creators, we’re amplifying the voices of emerging Filipino audio talent, giving them the platform and support to shape Filipino storytelling,” he added.
The Filipino podcasters, meanwhile, expressed their pride in showcasing Filipinos’ creativity in storytelling and being part of the first-ever RADAR Creators.
“I’ve always loved expressing myself—whether through television, digital, or podcasting—and this program is another way to keep doing that,” said Kuya Kim.
“I’m proud to represent Filipino storytellers who are making an impact both locally and globally,” he continued.
Sophie Prime shared, “As part of Spotify’s RADAR Creators program, I’m proud to represent Pinoy creativity and the way our generation blends humor, authenticity, and digital storytelling.”
“I’m excited to bring that bold and uniquely Filipino Gen Z energy to the global stage,” they added.
According to Spotify, the Philippines is among its top 5 podcast markets in Asia Pacific, noting that the share of Filipino podcasters publishing video has increased by nearly 65 percent year-on-year.
