AFTER embarking on a journey to find his “Dilaw,” R&B singer Maki is on his way to connect with people who love “red flags.”
On Tuesday, the young singer-songwriter dropped a TikTok video where he shared a snippet of his new song “Namumula,” dedicated to “red flag enjoyers.”
“Red flag” pertains to a warning sign for a person’s negative behavior or an environment’s characteristics that may cause harm to others.

“Bakit ba kasi ang hilig niyo sa [red flag ?]” asked Maki in the caption of his post.
Before his July 30 post, Maki dropped hints about his forthcoming project on X (formerly Twitter).
In his TikTok video, Maki was seen holding a sketch of a boy with a red bandage on his right arm that unleashes red lines. It was the same sketch he posted on X on July 27, along with his two other photos.

He then changed his profile picture on the platform to a plain red photo. Some fans correctly guessed that the singer was working on a new song.

Netizens’ react
While “Namumula” has yet to be dropped, several netizens found themselves relating to the song.
“Pinapatamaan mo ba ako?!?!?!?!?!?” a netizen commented on the post.
Maki replied, “Matamaan wag magalit.”
Some TikTok users left their suggestions for the music video of the song, hoping for another collaboration between Maki and P-pop girl group BINI.
“Si Colet na naman sana for this MV ‘cause red + anger = Colet,” a netizen said in jest.
Others suggested BINI member Mikha Lim because of her iconic red hair.
“[Tapos] si Mikha the red hair naman ang nasa MV. Namumula literal!” a fan commented.
Maki previously joined forces with BINI’s Maloi Ricalde for the music video of “Dilaw,” which has garnered over 17 million views on YouTube since its release in May.
“Dilaw’s” popularity propelled Maki to another milestone in his music career by becoming the first Filipino artist to clinch the top spot on Billboard Philippines’ “Hot 100” chart.
