According to Shams Charania and Joe Vardon of The Athletic, James is planning to represent Team USA for the last time at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
James, 38, has two gold and one bronze Olympic medals to his name. The bronze medal was earned at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. He took home a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, and he repeated the feat in London in 2012.
According to The Athletic, James has already begun calling on other NBA stars to join him.
James will be heading a squad of future Hall of Famers who are willing to commit, including Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

Other NBA stars, including Anthony Davis, Jayson Tatum, Draymond Green, Devin Booker, Damian Lillard, De’Aaron Fox, and Kyrie Irving, have expressed “serious interest” in representing Team USA at the Olympics.
The United States finished in fourth place in the recently concluded FIBA World Cup, following a 127-118 overtime loss to Canada during the bronze medal game on Sunday.
It was Canada’s first World Cup medal in 87 years.
Meanwhile, the world appears to have caught up with Team USA, as they failed to win a medal again after finishing seventh in the 2019 World Cup.
Head coach Steve Kerr said that teams and players around the world became better, making it more difficult for Team USA to win a World Cup or an Olympic game.
"These games are difficult. This is not 1992 anymore. Players are better all over the world, teams are better and it's not easy to win a World Cup or an Olympic game."

Following the defeat, Team USA is aiming to bolster its lineup and reclaim the throne by fielding a stronger team next time. We may also expect more NBA players to commit to the national team.
