ANOTHER Filipina is immortalized at Madame Tussauds Singapore!
This time is Broadway legend Lea Salonga’s turn.
In an exclusive unveiling event held this afternoon at Solaire Resort Entertainment City, Lea met her wax figure clad in a blue gown designed by her close friend and famous designer Rajo Laurel.

During her speech, the Tony award winning actress shared that her mother, Mommy Ligaya, manifested this momentous event when they visited the Madam Tussauds museum in London for the first time when she was just 12 years old.
“There was a wax likeness of Liza Minnelli, who I got to meet later on in my own life. So, she’s there posing in her tux and her pixie haircut, and my mother and I were both looking at it, and she said, ‘Anak, you never know, one day, that could be you,’” the icon reminisced.
It was a heartwarming moment when Lea and Mommy Ligaya posed on either side of the statue.
Lea is the fourth Filipino to have her likeness made by Madam Tussauds. The others were beauty queens Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, and boxing champ Manny Pacquiao; while actor and TV host Anne Curtis is also expected to have her own.
Prior to the unveiling today, the wax museum announced that 10 lucky fans would be able to attend the event; but for those who want to see the legendary actor’s wax twin, travel agency Klook is having a Travel Fest at the SM Megahall from September 14 to 15, where it will be on display.
While starting September 20, the statue will be placed in its home at Madame Tussauds Singapore.
