BEAUTY QUEEN Krishnah Gravidez surprised pageant fans and enthusiasts when she announced that she would pull out from the upcoming Miss Charm competition. But her exit did not mean that her beauty pageant journey has ended.

On Monday, June 3, the 23-year-old beauty queen announced that she would participate in the Miss World Philippines 2024 contest, as an official delegate of Baguio City.

“To color the WORLD with Kindness,” she wrote.

Gravidez was among the second wave of contenders–composed of 17 ladies–that the Miss World Philippines organization introduced yesterday along with their official headshot pictures.

The other 16 delegates are:

  • Paola Bagaforo of Taguig City
  • Sheikanah Jones Tamayo of Pasig City
  • Nikki Buenafe of Pangasinan
  • Dolly Cruz of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon
  • Tanya Francesca Granados of Laguna
  • Dilme Amanda Perera of Iloilo Province
  • Arrieanna Zobelle Beron of Iloilo City
  • Kara Athena de Leon of Guimaras
  • Precious Batiancilla of Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental
  • Jane Darren Genobisa of Davao del Sur
  • Sofi Maxim Margareta Grenmo of Cebu
  • Mariam Lara Ashraf Abd El Hamid of Capiz
  • Eula Arielle Paltep of Benguet
  • Marianel Tan of Bacolod City
  • Ma. Sophia Torino of Baco, Oriental Mindoro
  • Princess Kazel Oseo of Zambales

These candidates were selected by their franchise partners, said the Miss World Philippines organization.

Last month, the organization announced the first 25 official contenders for the Miss World Philippines 2024 crown.

The coronation night of Miss World Philippines 2024 competition will be held on July 19 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The delegate who will win the pageant will succeed reigning Miss World Philippines Gwendolyne Fourniol. The French-Filipina beauty queen bowed out early from the 71st Miss World tilt in India in March 2024, after she failed to make it to the Top 40.

The Miss World competition is one of the four major international pageants alongside Miss Universe, Miss International, and Miss Earth.

The Philippines has one Miss World title courtesy of beauty queen and Kapuso actress Megan Young, who won the pageant in 2013.

Miss Charm exit

Gravidez won the Miss Charm Philippines 2023 title in May 2023, after concluding her Miss Universe Philippines 2023 journey in the Top 5.

She succeeded Annabelle McDonnel, who was proclaimed first runner-up at the 2023 Miss Charm pageant in Vietnam. It was Brazilian beauty queen Luma Russo who was crowned as the first Miss Charm queen.

In an Instagram post on June 2, the Baguio City bet said she decided to withdraw from the second edition of the Miss Charm competition “after much consideration and reflection.” However, she did not provide a reason for her exit.

She expressed her gratitude to the Miss Universe Philippines and Miss Charm Philippines for the opportunity they have given her, saying it was “an honor to be part of such prestigious competitions.”

“I am truly grateful for the experiences and friendships I have gained along the way,” said Gravidez.

The beauty queen also thanked the pageant fans, her team, and her supporters, and asked for their continued support for her future endeavors.

The Miss Philippines, which selects the official Philippine representative to the Miss Charm pageant, has yet to make a statement regarding Gravidez’s exit from the Vietnam-based beauty competition.

Four other titleholders were announced during the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 tilt–which saw Bulacan bet Chelsea Manalo winning the edition–and one of them is Pampanga’s Cyrille Payumo, who was hailed Miss Charm Philippines 2025.

New crown

The Miss World Philippines organization also teased the new crown for the upcoming competition.

It shared a 16-second clip showing the top silhouette of the new Miss World Philippines crown, which was crafted by Oro China Jewelry.

The organization described the new crown as “a radiant symbol of grace, power, empowerment, and the beauty of a nation.”
