Kathryn Bernardo on vaping issue: ‘It won’t make me less of a person’

by RepublicAsia

KATHRYN Bernardo recently addressed a viral video that spurred speculations about whether the Kapamilya superstar has tried vaping.

Back in July, a stolen video clip of the actress circulated on various social media platforms. The said video showed Bernardo, who seemed to have been taking a break from her shoot, sitting on a bench and vaping.

She addressed the issue during a recent press conference for her new film A Very Good Girl.

While she is saddened as the video was shot without her permission, The Hows of Us star underscored that her vaping habits should not be used to define her character.

“Kung ginagawa ko yun, or di ko ginagawa, or ginagawa ko lang ba yun sa movie, hindi naman yun dini-define yung pagkatao ko. It won’t make me less of a person,” Bernardo tokd reporters.

She also wished that this invasion of privacy would not happen again, emphasizing that actors like her also need their privacy and personal space.

The actress also mentioned just because she is a role model does not mean she does not have imperfections, in response to the viral video.

Currently, Bernardo is promoting her upcoming film A Very Good Girl, where she plays the role of Philo. Her co-star Dolly de Leon, as Molly, will be a mother figure to her character.

The film follows self-made women as they manage their lives. It will be shown in theaters starting on September 8.

In addition to Bernardo and De Leon, the cast of A Very Good Girl includes Donna Cariaga, Gillian Vicencio, Jake Ejercito, Angel Aquino, Kaori Oinuma, Althea Ruedas, Nathania Guerrero, and Nour Hooshmand.
