ALMOST a year after her shocking breakup, Kathryn Bernardo said she is “ready” to take a chance on love again.
Bernardo expressed her readiness for love during her guesting in television host Boy Abunda’s “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” where she talked about her forthcoming romance film with Alden Richards, “Hello, Love, Again,” and what it means to her on professional and personal levels.
Before the show ended, Abunda asked Bernardo if she was “ready to fall in love again,” to which she answered in the affirmative.
“Kahapon pa,” she said. “Ready-ng ready na.”
The 28-year-old actress confirmed the end of her 11-year relationship with actor Daniel Padilla in November 2023, leaving many “KathNiel” fans shocked and heart-broken.
In her long and heartfelt Instagram post, Bernardo thanked Padilla for giving her “11 beautiful years” and the love she would “forever cherish.”
No regrets
During the interview, Bernardo also shared her realizations from her past longtime relationship with Padilla, saying that she did not regret anything.
“It was 11 beautiful years,” she stressed. “Kung ano yung nakikita niyo ngayon, ang laking part nung 11 years na ‘yon. So, kung nandyan si little Kath, sasabihin ko, ‘Ayaw kitang pangunahan, I want you to experience all these emotions, all these things, kasi it’s gonna be a big part of your growth.’”
Additionally, Bernardo gained lessons from her over-a-decade relationship with the 29-year-old actor.
“I’m talking about growth, I’m talking about being unselfish, about gratitude, dreams and all. Lumaki ako sa 11 years ng relationship na ‘yon,” the actress said.
While she has not found the “real definition of love,” Bernardo believes that “love can be found anywhere” may it be from their family, friends, or a special someone.
She also expressed her gratitude to people who surrounded her with “so much love” after dealing with the challenges.
New movie promotions
Bernardo is currently focusing on the promotions of “Hello, Love, Again,” which will premiere in local cinemas on November 13. The film is directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana.
She has been conducting mall tours, alongside Richards, to promote the forthcoming movie, the sequel to the 2019 romance film “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” which was also helmed by Garcia-Sampana.
Bernardo and Richards will reprise their roles as Joy and Ethan, respectively, facing the challenges of a long-distance relationship in “Hello, Love, Again.”
