Kapamilya welcomes back Jessy Mendiola while Luis Manzano renews contract

by RepublicAsia

JESSY Mendiola and Luis Manzano signed contracts with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic on July 2, 2024. Jessy finally comes back home after being away from the limelight for 5 years while Luis renews contract with the media company.

In an interview with MJ Felipe’s “On Cue”, Mendiola expressed her delight in being back in the industry after a long time, “…mixed emotions. First, of course, I’m very grateful, I’m very happy, and I’m also nervous and very anxious.”.

In the years that spanned with Jessy away from the spotlight, the actress said that it was a season for her to rest and to rediscover herself, “Now, I can really say na pumasok ulit ako sa industry na nasa tamang headspace.”.

Although Mendiola started acting from the age of 13 and had memorable roles in the prime of her career from shows like “Maria Mercedes”, “Budoy”, and “The Trial”, she feels nervous coming back.

“It’s been a while na ‘rin kasi…” In the same interview with MJ Felipe, Mendiola says that a lot changed with the 5 years she was away from showbiz, now that she’s back she wonders what people’s expectations of her are and what has changed in the industry, nervous from returning after a long while.

She admits that she did not expect to return to showbiz. Mendiola states that she is content with taking care of her new family with her actor-host husband, Luis.

Yet, when the opportunity came her way, she thought that it was the perfect time for her to come back after unsure thoughts of coming back to the industry, “So, ngayon na naging–nagkaroon ako opportunity to come home, sabi ko sige tignan natin.”.

Now that she is finally a Kapamilya once again, Jessy Mendiola is open and braver to trying new roles as she wants to dabble in action and gray roles. She firmly states that there is no hesitation with roles thrown her way.

Set to host ABS-CBN’s new game show “Rainbow Rumble”, Luis Manzano renews his contract with the media franchise that he has called home for 24 years.

Manzano expressed that it’s important for him to be a “forever Kapamilya” in an ABS-CBN article, where he feels that he, as the talent, and the company are there for each other. He continues that he was there at challenging times of ABS-CBN and in turn, the media franchise never lost trust in Luis when he was facing challenges of his own.

In an “On Cue” interview, Manzano stated that it was a wish of his for ABS-CBN to have an original game show where other countries will look into franchising. It was his dream to have something similar to “Game Ka Na Ba?”, being a fan ever since Kris Aquino and Edu Manzano’s time as hosts, respectively.

“Rainbow Rumble” is the game show that he always wanted. A game of chance and luck of trivia with difficult, tricky, and funny questions to bring back the nostalgia of popular game shows before.  “…it’s something na special para sa pamilya talaga and you get to learn something.”

When asked by MJ Felipe on what hosting opportunities Manzano is looking forward to doing, he answers that he wants to focus on the two game shows he is hosting and set to host for the time being with “It’s Your Lucky Day” and “Rainbow Rumble”.

“It’s Your Lucky Day” is ABS-CBN Studio’s noontime variety show where both the audience and celebrities face challenging yet fun tasks.

Manzano was present at Jessy Mendiola’s contract signing with the company to show his support as her husband.
