KAIA Performs “Tanga” at Republicasia

by Jamie Navarro

Rising P-pop girl group KAIA visited Republicasia to share with us their recently released single “Tanga”. The five-member group’s sound is a blend of pop, hip-hop, EDM, R&B, and of course that unique Filipino pop sound. Their song “Tanga”, crafted and produced by Zack Tabudlo, delves into the pain of staying in a disruptive relationship – a feeling most of us can probably relate to. “Tanga”, Tagalog for “fool”, encapsulates the naivety of being blindsided by love.

“KAIA is here”

But before they share with us their performance of their single, we got to know more about the girls through the RA Slambook. Check out Charlotte, Angela, Alexa, Sophia, and Charice’s MBTIs, fave karaoke songs to sing out too, and more cute facts.

We tapped into social media and reached out to ZAIAs, KAIA’s fandom name, to give their Truth or Dare suggestions for the girls. From the AISCREAM challenge to OT5 Alden pose, catch a glimpse of their quirky side through the dares and get a sneak peek into who they really are through their honest truths.

With the collaboration of KAIA and Zack Tabudlo on the song, we asked about their creative process, hopes, and achievements — and got a candid look into what drives them and how far they’ve come.

Nailing the dance challenge with KAIA

We at republicasia are big big fans of P-pop and we are so honored to see KAIA dance to the chorus of “Tanga” in our newsroom. Lights flashing, republicasia writers squirming from excitement, we got to see Charlotte, Angela, Alexa, Sophia, and Charice dance to the rhythm of their song.

BONUS: Our social media associate, Karl, got to do the “Tanga” challenge with the girls! A great day to end the video shoot at RA.
