K-Pop idols respond to ‘GENTO’ challenge

GENTO hype is far from over

From Filipinos emulating dance moves from their K-Pop idols, now, it’s the K-Pop idols doing Filipino dance moves!

The Filipino boy band SB19 continues to reach more heights with its hit song “GENTO” dominating the South Korea K-pop industry with multiple idols jumping on the dance craze.

After the release of the song last May, it quickly made rounds on TikTok eventually leading to it becoming a viral dance challenge on the platform.

K-POP DOING P-POP

Here are some of the K-pop groups and idols who dropped their own version of the challenge:

  1. Ateez 

San, the lead dancer from the K-pop group Ateez shows off his incredible moves as he hopped into the GENTO Dance Challenge of SB19. 

  1. Cravity

Dressed in practice clothes, the main dancer, Hyeongjun and Taeyoung of Cravity took on the GENTO challenge dancing in sync in the 25-seconds video.

  1.   Minzy 

The former member of 2NE1 Minzy, joined the dance craze of SB19 as she uploaded her version of GENTO on her instagram account that surprised a lot of her followers and filled up her comments with “slaaayyy”. 

  1. &TEAM

It’s “another day, another slay” for K of &TEAM as he shows off his swag moves in an on-point performance of the GENTO dance challenge in an Instagram reel that now has over 500k total views.

  1. MIRAE

In a Count Dance video posted by 1theK Originals on Youtube, MIRAE members also jumped on the viral trend doing the cover in full spirit. The boys also did ATEEZ – BOUNCY dance, ATLAS – My Treasure, and NCT DREAM – Broken Melodies, among others.

  1. ZEROBASEONE (ZB1)

With over 1.7 million views, ZB1’s members Sunghanbin and Parkunwook had their smoother and chill version of the dance, gaining them praises from the common section.

  1. WEI

Yohan, a member of Korean boyband WEI, jumped into the viral trend GENTO and added his own swag to the challenge, flaunting his dance skills.
