THE strongest duo is back—but on the big screen!

SM Cinema announced that “Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie” will premiere in Philippine movie houses on September 3.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has classified the animated film as R-13, indicating that it is suitable only for viewers aged 13 and older.

“The curses are coming… and the ultimate battle is about to hit the big screen,” SM Cinema wrote.

“Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie” is a theatrical anime compilation film of the “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” arc from the second season of the hit anime series “Jujutsu Kaisen,” based on the Japanese manga series of the same name written and illustrated by manga artist Gege Akutami.

It retells the younger days of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, considered to be two of the powerful sorcerers, who are given a challenging task to protect Riko Amanai, a student chosen to be the Star Plasma Vessel sacrifice. But this mission, which involves getting pursued by a religious cult and other curse users, will test Gojo and Geto’s bond as high school friends and shape their future.

“Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie,” with a running time of one hour and 50 minutes, will feature the acoustic version of Tatsuya Kitani’s “Where Our Blue Is,” previously used as the opening theme song for the second season of the “Jujutsu Kaisen” series.

SM Cinema first hinted at the forthcoming animated film when it dropped a poster featuring eyeglasses earlier this month, along with the caption: “What happened in ‘06… won’t stay in ‘06.”

Several netizens were quick to guess that it was another “Jujutsu Kaisen” film, noting that the eyewear on the poster was similar to that of Gojo’s.

Directed by Shota Goshozono, “Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death – The Movie” was first released in Japan in May 2025.

Fan screening

On Thursday, SM Cinema announced that there will be a “Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” fan screening at the SM Megamall on September 6.

Each ticket is worth P650 and comes with exclusive collectibles, including a sketch setting booklet, sticker sheets with two random designs, and an A4 folder.

The advance ticket sale starts on Thursday, August 28, at 3 p.m.
