In the implemented law of Republic Act no. 10868 or the Centenarians Act of 2016, it states that Filipinos (Filipino Citizens) who reaches 100 years and above are entitled to receive a cash gift worth P100,000.
In a House committee hearing last 2022, then Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo reported that there were 662 Filipino centenarians in the country.
In a senate press release last September 25, 2023–the expansion of Centenarians coverage had been approved under the Senate Bill No. (SBN) 2028.
On the act, it entitles living Filipino citizens both living in the country and abroad to be granted P10,000 upon reaching the age 80-years-old, P20,000 upon reaching 90, and P100,000 upon reaching 100-year-old.
The implemented bill is also stated to be adjusted for inflation after a year of effectivity. The adjusted amount will be determined by the National Economic and Development Authority. The amount will be based on the average annual inflation in the three preceding years.
