OPM singer and actor Juan Karlos is an open book scarred by love in his latest single ‘Tanga Mo Juan’ released on Friday, June 7.

The emotion-packed track is a sequel to ‘Limang Taon,’ which follows his journey as a man with a bruised heart towards self-love.

Also notably known as JK, the ‘ERE’ hitmaker seemingly takes on a somewhat different route with ‘Tanga Mo Juan,’ which casts a light on his rawest emotions brought by heartbreak, loss, and self-admitted imperfections in relationships.

The song is also accompanied by an official live performance video posted on YouTube. It has the same setting with that of ‘Limang Taon,’ heavily implying that they are parallel to each other.

Watch it here:

In honor of his latest song’s release, JK got his fans laughing on social media with his self-proclaimed “National Tanga Day,” a “holiday” commemorating people who have been “tanga” or stupidly in love at some point in their lives.

To get the ball rolling, JK prepared a petition and encouraged his fans and listeners alike to sign it. He even added a short statement explaining why they should participate in his light-hearted initiative:

“Nakakapagod maging tanga, kaya deserve nating lahat magpahinga, your honor!

Pirmahan nyo na ‘tong petisyon na gawing non-working holiday and National Tanga Day ang June 21! Sama-sama nating ipasabatas ‘to! G?

labyu,

juan karlos”

In every milestone the petition reaches, JK promised his fans that they can get a chance to win official merchandise like a signed photo card, shirt, and exclusive video greeting from him. Currently, it has over a thousand signatures. The video greeting is next in line for the win once it reaches 10,000 signatures.

Additionally, JK also invited everyone to use “#NationalTangaDay” in their social media accounts to spread the word.

JK rose to fame as a child singer, where he was first known as Juan Karlos Labajo, in the Voice Kids Philippines in 2014 where he placed third. Since then, he has been releasing songs and starring in movies, TV dramas, and reality shows. ‘Juan Karlos,’ his namesake band, was formed in 2018.

Prior to his viral ‘ERE’ song last year, his most popular song was ‘Buwan’ which was released in 2018.
