MARVEL fans will witness the Avengers reassembling on the big screen, as Marvel Studios confirmed that a new “Avengers” film is now in production.

On a YouTube livestream, Marvel Studios revealed each cast member of the forthcoming superhero film, “Avengers: Doomsday,” by panning the camera on empty chairs that bore the actors’ names on the back.

The first actor revealed in the video was Chris Hemsworth, who will reprise his role as Thor, followed by Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson or the new Captain America; Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier; Paul Rudd as Scott Lang or Ant-Man; Simu Liu as Sang-Chi; Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres, a.k.a the new Falcon; and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

“Avengers: Doomsday” will show more familiar faces, including “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” cast Letitia Wright as Shuri or the new Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejia as Namor, and Winston Duke as M’Baku.

The four main characters in the forthcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps” movie—a.k.a. Marvel’s First Family—are also joining the next “Avengers” film, with Vanessa Kirby reprising her role as Sue Storm a.k.a Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm a.k.a The Thing, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm a.k.a Human Torch, and Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards a.k.a Mister Fantastic.

“Thunderbolts*” cast will make an appearance, too, with Wyatt Russel returning as John Walker or U.S. Agent, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov or Red Guardian, Lewis Pullman as Bob or Sentry, and Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr or Ghost.

But wait, there’s more! Several characters from “X-men” films are also revealed as part of the “Avengers: Doomsday” cast, including Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

Completing the star-studded “Avengers: Doomsday” cast is Robert Downey Jr., known for his role as Tony Stark or Iron Man in the previous Marvel films. This time, he will portray the role of supervillain Doctor Doom.

Marvel Studios’ cast revelation ended with Downey sitting on his chair and shushing the audience.

“It all leads to Doom,” the production company said.

Anthony and Joe Russo will return as directors of “Avengers: Doomsday,” which will roll in theaters on May 1, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” which will premiere on May 7, 2027.

‘Doomsday’ begins

On Instagram, the Russo brothers shared the cast announcement clip and said, “Doomsday has begun.”

The Russo brothers were announced as directors of “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” during San Diego Comic-Con in 2024.

Downey, donning an all-green suit, was also at the event, surprising fans with his new role as Doctor Doom when he took off his mask on the stage.

“New mask, same task,” the actor said.

“What can I tell you? I like playing complicated characters,” he added, eliciting cheers from the crowd.

This announcement came after the last “Avengers” movie, “Avengers: Endgame,” in 2019, which the Russo brothers directed.

They also helmed three more titles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU): “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain America: Civil War,” and “Avengers: Infinity War.”
