Released on May 6, 2025, the trailer highlights the bond between Hiccup (Mason Thames) and Toothless, the injured Night Fury. The pair was also shown in a quick glimpse of a fighting sequence against another huge and furious dragon.
Mason Thames, 17, was cast to play Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, the protagonist of the film. Meanwhile, Nico Parker— Dumbo and The Last of Us star— will play his love interest, Astrid Hofferson.
The cast also features Gerard Butler reprising his role as Stoick the Vast, Hiccup’s father, Nick Frost as Gobber the Belch, Julian Dennison as Fishlegs Ingerman, Gabriel Howell as Snotlout Jorgenson, Bronwyn James as Ruffnut Thorston, Harry Trevaldwyn as Tuffnut Thorston, and Ruth Codd as Phlegma the Fierce.
