‘Holo in September:’ NCT’s Haechan to debut as soloist

by Joanna Deala

ANOTHER member of the popular K-pop group NCT will soon debut as a solo artist!

South Korean label SM Entertainment confirmed in a statement, released by Korean media outlet Soompi, that Haechan is gearing up to release his first solo album in September.

No further details yet about his music, including the album’s title, tracklist, and its exact release date, but the company asked for his fans’ “great interest.”

Haechan, whose real name is Lee Donghyuck, becomes the seventh NCT member to debut as a solo artist, following Taeyong, Ten, Doyoung, Yuta, Jaehyun, and Mark.

Haechan’s solo debut comes nine years after he debuted as an NCT member in 2016. He serves as the main vocalist and lead dancer of the group’s sub-units NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream.

Before his solo debut announcement, the 25-year-old singer was one of the featured artists in the solo debut album, “The Firstfruit,” of his fellow NCT member, Mark Lee.

They collaborated on the song “+82 Pressin’,” where they both exuded confidence as Seoul-based artists.

In January, Haechan stole hearts with his rendition of the hit Japanese song “First Love” by Hikaru Utada.

Outside NCT, the singer lends his voice for the original soundtracks (OSTs) of several Korean dramas. He recently performed “A Thousand Reasons,” the OST for the 2025 romantic comedy drama “Second Shot at Love,” starring Choi Soo-young from “Run On” and Gong Myung from the box office hit film “Extreme Job.”

‘TDS4’ tour

NCT Dream—consisting of Haechan, Mark, Jaemin, Jisung, Jeno, Renjun, and Chenle—has announced their newest tour, “The Dream Show 4 (TDS4): Dream the Future,” which kicked off with a three-day show in Seoul, South Korea, from July 10 to 12.

This will be followed by shows in Bangkok and Hong Kong in August, Jakarta in September, Singapore in October, Saitama in November, and Taipei and Kuala Lumpur in December.

The tour will continue in Osaka and Nagoya in January 2026.

Meanwhile, Filipino fans, collectively known as NCTzens, hope the Philippines will be included in the tour.

NCT Dream last visited the Philippines in August 2024 for their “TDS3” at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
