THERE is more reason for Filipinos to visit the historic Walled City of Manila, as the Intramuros Administration (IA) is set to hold the P-pop Tourism Fiesta 2025 on September 27.
This culminating event, promising “a full day of culture, music, and festivities,” coincides with this year’s celebration of Tourism Month, with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”
According to its website, the IA joined forces with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and its network to organize the P-pop Tourism Fiesta 2025.
The agencies aim to make the event interactive and engaging through a variety of activities that will surely immerse attendees.
Among them is the “Intramuros Tourism Expo: Green Vision, Bold Solutions,” where Tourism students from four Intramuros-based universities and colleges will be invited to participate in five competitions: travel vlogging, kasuotang Filipino, tour guiding, event planning, and travel infographics.
A marketplace, featuring food and non-food merchants, will be set up in the newly opened Foro de Intramuros.
The organizers also invited partners who will conduct a series of workshops in IA-managed sites. These classes will focus on dance, music, fashion, culinary, and Baybayin.
Meanwhile, students from the four Intramuros-based universities and colleges will have the chance to showcase their musical talents by competing in the “Battle of the School Bands.”
To cap off the P-pop Tourism Fiesta 2025, several P-pop groups and Original Pinoy Music (OPM) artists will join together on stage and perform in a concert.
Further details—including the mechanics for the competitions, exact venues for the activities, and whether the event is free admission—have yet to be announced.
While the organizers have yet to reveal their celebrity performers for the P-pop concert, several netizens have suggested their favorite groups, like ALAMAT, KAIA, VXON, and HORI7ON, to perform at the event.
The IA has prepared various meaningful and exciting activities to celebrate Tourism Month this year, including a free walking tour at Fort Santiago and Casa Manila Museum every Saturday and Sunday, a clean-up drive called “Cleantramuros” every Sunday, film screenings, and the Manila International Dance Festival (MIDFEST) 2025 to be held at Foro de Intramuros, from September 18 to 20.
