SM NORTH Edsa is back in its fourth year of ‘Animezing North,’ and this time, it will bring fans to the volleyball courtside of their favorite Haikyuu!! characters.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, June 12, SM City North Edsa announced that it will feature the first ever Philippine Haikyuu!! activation at The Block Atrium in SM North Edsa.

Fans will be delighted to snap shots with the standees of their favorite volleyball stars from the teams of Karasuno High, Nekoma High, Aoba Johsai High, Inarizaki High, and Fukurodani Gakuen High. Exclusive and official merchandise will also be up for sale.

Expected to run from June 18 to 30 this year, it will kickstart the 2-part ‘Animezing North’ series that will feature two event activations.

On Tuesday, June 11, SM City North Edsa released a teaser video announcing that it will “bring forth two celebrated kings of the anime world” in its “supersized” event to give way for a more epic anime fantasy experience the fans can look forward to.

The second installment this coming August will feature “another king” set to come back “in his greatest and most iconic gear yet.” From the teaser video, fans have been quick to guess that the One Piece franchise will once again visit the mall.

In last year’s ‘Animezing North’ in September, One Piece characters became the stars of the event. The centerpiece of the exhibit was the 21-ft tall inflatable of protagonist and Straw Hat Pirates captain Monkey D. Luffy. One Piece photo walls and exclusive merchandise were also prepared for the fans.

Haikyuu!! is a Japanese anime and manga series by Japanese manga artist Haruichi Furudate that follows the story of rookie volleyball player Shoyo Hinata on his journey to the top of the volleyball scene.

A movie succeeding the first four seasons of the anime entitled “Haikyuu!! The Dumpster Battle,” which revolves around the long-awaited match between Karasuno High and Nekoma High, was released last February in Japan. It reached Philippine theaters months later on May 15 where it instantly became a hit.
