An upcoming partial lunar eclipse will be visible in some places including the Philippines on October 29.

The lunar eclipse is expected to be visible for about 1 hour and 19 minutes in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the penumbral phase will start at 2 a.m., followed by a partial lunar eclipse at 3:35 a.m.

Meanwhile, the maximum eclipse is set to occur at 4:14 a.m.

PAGASA also noted that the partial lunar eclipse will be seen in locations where the moon is above the horizon. This includes Europe, most of Asia, Africa, eastern Americas and Australia.

Upon watching the lunar eclipse, PAGASA said, “Contrary to solar eclipses, observing a lunar eclipse is safe and requires no protective eyewear.”

The weather bureau suggested for the public to use binoculars for an extraordinary viewing experience.
