SINGER-SONGWRITER Maki will add a new color to his already vibrant discography, signaling a forthcoming song that could be a new anthem for Gen Z listeners.

Tarsier Records, Maki’s label, revealed on Monday that the Gen Z hitmaker is set to release a new color-inspired track called “Kahel Na Langit.” The announcement came with a GIF of oranges bearing the song’s title as their label.

On X (formerly Twitter), Maki shared a few photos related to his new song, including his sunset silhouette and a drawing of an orange that bore the message:

Some days—the joy feels impossible. It seems like everyone has their extravagant delights and there was none left for me. It comes in waves. The joy. The sorrow. But there are some things that just are. The orange will always be an orange. The birds will still sing. And the moon is always round—even when it doesn’t look like it. Joy felt impossible until I found it in the things that do not change.

“Hanggang may kahel na langit, maiisip kita,” Maki wrote in the caption.

But Maki clarified that he did not write the English message, and it is not part of the new song’s lyrics.

“Wait for the real lyrics, it’s a Tagalog song,” he told a fan.

Further details about “Kahel Na Langit,” including its release date, have yet to be revealed.

The forthcoming track follows Maki’s 2024 color-themed songs “Bughaw,” “Namumula,” and “Dilaw.”

‘KOLORCOASTER’ album

The singer-songwriter has announced that he would release his first-ever full-length album, “KOLORCOASTER.”

The forthcoming album will consist of 10 songs, including “Dilaw,” “Namumula,” and “Bughaw.”

“It’s gonna be a crazy ride, but I hope you can ride with us in this ‘KOLORCOASTER.’ Sana po abangan niyo po ‘yan because it’s gonna be an album na I’ve never—hindi ko pa akalain na magagawa ko ‘tong album na ‘to but it took a lot of work, effort, and of course, heart and time,” Maki said during the media conference of his “Bughaw Hour” event in March.

“Sana po abangan niyo po ang mga susunod pang kulay sa mangyayaring album na ‘to,” he added.

Maki held the “Bughaw Hour” event to launch the music video of “Bughaw,” starring HORI7ON’s Kyler, content creator Zeke Abella, and former YGIG member Alexei Claire.
