*…Stranger to my eyes. Strumming my hair with his fingers. Singing my life with his words…*
Can you picture the exact .5 video format that comes with this song just like we have the past few days?
This song, used in over 800,000 posts, has been heating up FYPs on TikTok in the past few months, with a fit check video trend using its audio.
Essentially, it is a clip taken with the .5 camera feature of an iPhone, which lets users capture a wide video angle of their outfit using the back camera. After a few seconds, the subject then lets go of the device, presumably held by another person, and then it moves as the subject twirls and turns for added aesthetic effect.
This specific Floating Phone Fit Check first gained popularity in the Philippines when actress Anne Curtis made her own version of the trend. Her video took the internet by storm, which has garnered almost 34 million views on TikTok as of posting.

Comedian-actress Melai Fracisco (@melaicfrancisco) also joined the trend with the caption “Anne hirap nmn maging @Anne Curtis Fishtii.”

BEHIND THE SCENES
Naturally, we can’t just help but be curious about how they do it. It’s a smooth transition that makes it seem like they’re recording on a tripod with wheels.
So, how is it done?
Apparently, it is not a one-person job. To be able to slay on this trend, one must have a partner to hold the device and move along with one’s movements–a human drone, as netizens call it.
Here’s @otetsantiago sharing the BTS (Behind the Scenes) of Anne Curtis doing the trend.
Everybody, let’s all say: “Ah, eto pala ‘yun.”
Now that you know, let’s see your entry on the #KillingMeSoftlyFitCheckChallenge.
