AN array of exciting activities is offered to Filipinos this Halloween season, including a free guided tour of the historical Fort Santiago.
On Facebook, the Intramuros Administration announced that the free guided tour will be on Thursday, October 31, from 5 p.m. onwards.
“Perfect for history lovers, families, and adventure-seekers, this is your chance to explore the iconic Fort Santiago and uncover the secrets of its dramatic past,” it said.
Interested participants will have to visit the Intramuros Visitors Center (IVC) inside Fort Santiago to avail of the free tour.
Fort Santiago has an entrance fee of P75 for the regular price. The discounted rate is P50 for students, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and government employees.
More Halloween events in Intramuros
Several events will be held in the historic “Walled City of Manila” for this year’s Halloween celebration.
Aside from the free guided tour, the Intramuros Administration collaborated with Mystery Manila and Bambike for the “Intramuros Investigation” bamboo bicycle ride, where participants will play as paranormal detectives to solve two mysteries surrounding the historic landmark.
The activity is extended to October 28 and 30.
The agency will also hold its inaugural costume party in Fort Santiago on Thursday, which encourages interested attendees to come in their best Period Filipiniana costumes and win an opportunity to visit several historical sites in Intramuros—including Fort Santiago, Casa Manila Museum, and Baluarte De san Diego—for free.
Additionally, a trick-or-treat activity for children aged 12 and below will take place in Fort Santiago, starting at 4 p.m.
Last week, the Casa Manila Museum opened its doors to the public to relieve Old Manila’s elegance and glory.
