#EmpowerHer: Lottie Bie at Republicasia

by Jamie Navarro

We celebrate Women’s Month not only to uphold historical figures but also the women of today. Whether it is a grand achievement or small wins, the month is a reminder that every woman should be celebrated. They shine with the quiet resilience they bring in their—and our—everyday lives. Social media in this generation becomes an open platform for so many things. One of them is to raise awareness on issues and advocacies.

For this month’s Republicasia campaign, we launched #EmpowerHer to highlight inspiring stories of woman empowerment. We welcomed content creator and director Lottie Bie as she enthusiastically shares insights on the challenges of being a woman in society.

Discrimination based solely on being a woman

Before we talk about women empowerment, we asked Lottie Bie about any discrimination she has experienced just because she was not the “superior” species. From her early days in elementary school and building relationships to facing discrimination in the workforce, Lottie shares how she navigates it all.

Is women’s health overlooked?

Lottie Bie often creates content that brings smiles to our faces— whether through satirical videos tackling various issues or meme-worthy stories we all love. Recently, through a partnership with Kindred, a renowned women’s health clinic, Lottie discovered she has Endometriosis. We had the opportunity to talk to her about her journey and the often-overlooked importance of women’s health.

Admiration for iconic women

It’s been inspiring to hear Lottie Bie’s insights on women’s empowerment and health. To wrap up the day, we played a fun and quick game to explore her personality, strengths, and interests— letting her choose the iconic women she resonates with the most.

Special thanks to Lottie Bie for allowing us to share her story and spreading awareness of women’s health and empowerment.
