As everyone prepared to return to work after the weekend, Elmo delivered a quick greeting to his Twitter followers: “Elmo is just checking in! How’s everyone doing?

His seemingly simple question elicited a series of answers. As of publication time, the tweet had 209 million views, 20k replies, 60k retweets, and 158k likes, indicating that everyone is dealing with their own issues.

The query opened the existential floodgates, eliciting a slew of loaded comments ranging from the pithy to the worrying, creating an overwhelming feeling of gloom throughout the thread. 

The majority of netizens who commented revealed deep emotions of difficulties entering the year, and some referred to their actions as “trauma dumping,” which inundated the reply section.

The official X account for the entire Sesame Street cast emphasized the importance of mental health, however Zoe and Rocco were not present in the supportive conversation.

Despite differing reactions from fans, it was a breath of fresh air to observe a constructive discourse about mental health and friendship, as well as how the Sesame Street clan was able to connect with individuals of today.
