Get ready to defend your lawn once again—”Plants vs. Zombies” is back!

EA has announced “Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted” for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, featuring HD visuals, new levels, and local co-op.

Revealed at the latest Nintendo Direct, the remaster brings enhanced animations and lets players team up for the first time to battle the undead together.

According to EA, the game will provide “the same charm, chaos, and sun-powered defense players know and love.”

But the game will also offer “new levels, fresh twists, and 15 years of never-before-seen franchise history at your fingertips.”

The remastered version also introduces a local co-op mode, allowing two players to defend the backyard together. It features a local player-versus-player (PvP) mode, where one player can take control of the zombie horde in a competitive match.

For players looking for a tougher challenge, “Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted” introduces Cloudy Day Mode, where reduced sunlight forces more strategic planting.

Those craving high stakes can take on Rest in Peace Mode, a hardcore permadeath option where a single loss means starting the entire adventure over.

When it’s time to wind down, the game also brings back fan-favorite minigames like Wall-Nut Bowling and offers a peek behind the scenes with a brand-new Art and Concept Library showcasing never-before-seen sketches and the game’s creative history.

Originally released in 2009 by PopCap Games, “Plants vs. Zombies” quickly became a global hit thanks to its quirky humor, charming art style, and addictive tower-defense gameplay.

The game put a creative twist on the genre by letting players use animated plants to fend off waves of zombies in increasingly challenging backyard battles.

Its success led to multiple sequels, spin-offs, and adaptations across various platforms.

With Replanted, EA is bringing the beloved classic back to life for a new generation—now in HD, with fresh content and new ways to play.
