HIT reality competition “Drag Race Philippines” leveled up viewers’ excitement as it unveiled the drag queens who will compete in its third season.
The forthcoming season will air on August 7, where 11 drag queens will compete to become the next drag superstar.
On Thursday, “Drag Race Philippines” named the cast members for its third season: Angel, John Fedellaga, J Quinn, Khianna, Maxie, Myx Chanel, Popstar Bench, Tita Baby, Versex, Yudipota, and Zymba Ding.
The RuVealation (revelation) came with official photos of the contestants, where they were clad in black-and-white ensembles while holding various Filipino delicacies like banana cue, halo-halo, balut, isaw, kwek-kwek and suman.
“‘Drag Race Philippines’ season 3 is here. Are you hungry for more?” said Paolo Ballesteros, also known as Mama Pao, in a teaser video featuring the 11 contestants.
Ballesteros will reprise his role as host of the show’s third edition.
“Come and taste the unique and exotic flavors of ‘Drag Race Philippines’ season 3,” he added.
It was in October 2023 when the Philippine franchise of the hit reality competition was announced to be renewed for a third season, alongside “Drag Race France” and “Drag Race Thailand.”
In the second edition of “Drag Race Philippines,” 12 queens competed to be the ultimate winner. Captivating Katkat won the competition, with Arizona Brandy placing as runner-up.
The two other finalists were M1ss Jade So and Bernie who were eliminated before the lip sync smackdown for the crown.
Precious Paula Nicole was named the Philippines’ first-ever drag superstar in 2022.
Excitement for season 3
Meanwhile, the drag queens were also thrilled about the forthcoming season, expressing their confidence in winning the drag superstar title.
In an Instagram story, MYX channel shared its reaction following the cast announcement and said, “Hello, good morning! Lahat ba nagke-crave na ng lumpiang toge kasi ako oo!”
They also shared a photo with J Quinn and captioned their story, “We made it.”
In another story, MYX channel said that their participation in “Drag Race Philippines” season 3 is a dream come true for them.
“I’m overwhelmed in the best possible way right now,” they said, “I’ve dreamed of this day for so long, like (the most clichéd ever but) drag and drag race has changed my life drastically and I can’t believe that my dream has finally come true.”
Versex, on the other hand, sent her “Drag Race Philippines” official photo to her mom as a birthday gift to her.
“It was my mom’s birthday yesterday, ang saya kasi tumapat sa [birthday] niya so gift ko na sa kanya ‘to. She’s been patiently waiting for this ako na nag-send,” she narrated.
Zymba Ding shared the video teaser on her Instagram page and said, “Let me roar!!!”
Meanwhile, Yudipota said she was “ready” for the crown.
Former “Drag Race Philippines” contestants—including M1ss Jade So, Arizona Brandy, Veruschka Levels, Hana Beshie, and Corazon—expressed support for the new drag queens in the show.
In preparation for the new season, “Drag Race Philippines” also updated its profile photo to its black-and-white logo on social media.
