THE Department of Education (DepEd) reminded public schools against the ban on soliciting funds for school supplies and appliances from students.
According to the DepEd, they are issuing such reminders after they received reports of complaints on contributions allegedly collected through PTAs or parents and teachers associations.
“Mayroon tayong tinatawag na no collection policy, so hindi po talaga puwedeng mangolekta ang ating mga paaralan,” DepEd spokesman Michael Wesley Poa said in an interview over TeleRadyo Serbisyo.
According to Poa, they will release a department order in order to reiterate the policy.
