Can AI really solve our problems? DashoContent and Web3PH huddled 18 individuals to brainstorm on AI ideas that can solve real world problems.
The Future Frontiers AI Ideathon was held at KMC, The Podium West Tower, on October 12, 2024. This event was co-organized by Young Founders Summit (YFS), GEN AI Philippines, Third Team Media and DashoWork.
The AI ideathon is held with the goal of advancing AI literacy and encouraging creative solutions. Among a big group of applicants: students, developers, other professionals, 18 individuals were chosen to take part in showcasing their AI innovations. Each of them will be grouped into teams to choose a problem which they can create possible solutions with the use of AI. The event began with words of encouragement from Bea Llana of Web3PH followed by flash talks of AI’s use for the future by key organizers David Alfonso Castro, the event chairman, Oliver Santos, co-host, Raffy Mae Alidon of from Young Founders Summit, Fleire Castro of DashoContent, and Armielyn Obinguar of GEN AI Philippines. Each flash talk exhibits insights that can enhance the teams’ ideas in their projects.

Six teams were created to brainstorm on their chosen project and were judged by Dominic Ligot of Cirrolytix, Shad de la Cruz of Symph, and Fleire Castro of DashoContent. Three teams earned the top 3 title as their projects passed the criteria of how feasible and innovative it is, as well as how much of an impact it will make to our world.
Team AI Caramba consisting of members Jand Petrick Antonio, Kevin Zadner Lim, and Ashley Mikaela Melendres won third place for their AI-powered agricultural drone solution designed to improve farming efficiency. Team Alagad ni Arjohn with members Adrian Azures, Adiran Paul Sande, and Vinceric Baron Ocasiones bagged second place with the project names Elara, an AI mental health companion which aims to provide accessible mental health support. Earning the top rank, first place team Hacktivators; Andrea Faith Alimorong, Rhenz Nathaniel Fernandez, and Joshua Jarabejo presented AlgoQuest, an augmented reality game designs to teach AI concept through interactive learning. Each team emitted excellence in AI development and innovation.

With the new generation almost always glued to their gadgets, taking in new information, entertainment, and with AI in tow— creativity and curiosity are born everyday. This ideathon is to encourage and help generate all these ideas into solutions that can start creating and sustaining a better world.
